80-Year-Old Mountain Climber Dies in Accident in Glarus

Two people were involved in an accident on Thursday afternoon above Klöntalersee in the canton of Glarus on a hiking trail. An 80-year-old man died from his injuries, while his partner was seriously injured and had to be flown to the hospital. The two hikers were on their way to Vorderglärnisch at 2:30 pm, according to the Glarner Cantonal Police. For unknown reasons, the couple fell from the hiking trail about 50 meters below the area of "Stäfeli".
