Biella, Federal Folder Manufacturer, Closes Production Facility in Brügg

The famous Bundesordner will no longer be produced in Switzerland from next year. The office supplies company Biella is closing its production in Brügg BE, affecting around 45 employees. The employees were informed on Tuesday about the relocation of production abroad in 2024, Biella announced on Wednesday. A social plan has been offered to them and a consultation process has been started. Biella is still committed to the Swiss location, "as a brand with a reduced organization". The jobs in the areas of sales, marketing and logistics are not affected by the change. Biella has been part of the French Exacompta-Clairefontaine Group since 2019. The company justifies the closure of the Brügg site with the decreasing demand for its traditional products.
