For Architect Jean Nouvel, the KKL is a Special Building

On Saturday, architect Jean Nouvel returned to the KKL Luzern, the building he designed, to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Nouvel described the building as his first "international child" and said it had been an unforgettable experience that had sparked many discussions. The concert hall, renowned for its acoustics, was opened on 18 August 1998 and the entire building, including other halls, a museum and restaurants, was inaugurated in March 2000. The exterior of the building is striking, with its 100x100 metre roof. Nouvel had originally planned for the concert hall to protrude from the lake like a ship, but this was deemed too spectacular and he had to revise his plans.
