The telecommunications companies Sunrise, Salt Mobile and Swisscom have failed in their complaint against the disclosure of information about the operational data of 5G antennas to a journalist. The Federal Administrative Court saw no legal obstacles to the disclosure. The three companies argued that their trade secrets would be affected by the disclosure of the information, and that the internal and external security of Switzerland would be compromised if all the locations were presented on a platter. The Federal Administrative Court rejected all the objections of the telecommunications companies. It stated that the coordinates of the antenna locations are available on the Federal Geoportal and that other data are also publicly accessible or must at least be made public as part of the building application. Furthermore, the court saw no danger that trade secrets would be published with the list. The companies had already expanded their networks and should know about each other's antennas. The ruling is not yet final and can be appealed to the Federal Court.
