Average Monthly Cantonal Premiums Across All Age Groups

The Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) has announced that the average monthly premium for all age groups and insurance models will increase by 8.7% in 2024, from 331.80 to 359.50 Swiss Francs. However, there are large differences between the cantons. The premium will increase the most in the canton of Ticino, by 10.5%, while the least increase will be in Basel-Stadt and Appenzell Innerrhoden, both at 6.5%. This increase in premiums is expected to help cover the rising costs of health care in Switzerland.
