Vontobel Bank has found a succession plan to replace its long-time CEO Zeno Staub. Two co-CEOs will take over the leadership of the company. Christel Rendu de Lint and Georg Schubiger will take over as Co-CEOs of the traditional Zurich private bank beginning in 2024, according to a statement released Tuesday by the bank's board of directors. The decision was made as part of a professional succession process. With effect from 1 January 2024, Vontobel Holding has appointed two new members to its Executive Committee: Dr. Thomas Schubiger and Dr. Thomas Schubiger. In addition to their new responsibilities, the two will continue to lead their current areas. Schubiger will also be appointed to the Executive Committee of Vontobel Holding as part of the appointment. The appointments are subject to the approval of the regulator. Vontobel announced in May 2023 that Zeno Staub, who had been a member of the management board for 20 years and CEO for 12 years, would be stepping down from his role at the latest at the next General Assembly on April 9, 2024. He wishes to become more involved in Swiss civil society and is running for National Council for "Die Mitte" in the canton of Zurich. Until then, he will be available to the new co-CEOs to ensure a professional transition. Vontobel has announced the imminent departure of Marko Röder as head of the Asset Management division. Röder has informed the board of directors that he wishes to step down from his current role for "personal reasons" next year and take on a different role, either within or outside of Vontobel. He had taken on the leadership of the important Asset Management division for Vontobel in 2021.
