Relatives of EDA Local Staff in Gaza Strip Have Died

At least four members of the family of a Palestinian employee of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (EDA) were killed in fighting in the Gaza Strip on Monday. Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis expressed his deep condolences to the employee. The EDA stated that no further information could be provided due to data and privacy protection. The EDA is responsible for the safety of its personnel in the course of their duties for the department. Risk-based security measures are in place, adapted to the context. According to Swiss Italian Radio (RSI), the employee's wife and two children were among those killed in an air strike on the family's home.
