The Mayor of Massagno Suspended Due to Criminal Investigation

The President of Massagno TI has been suspended at his own request due to an ongoing criminal investigation into alleged misconduct, mismanagement or fraud. Until the investigation is completed, the Vice President will take over the duties of the suspended President. The investigation was triggered by the purchase of a painting worth 400 francs on behalf of the municipality of Massagno. The Swiss government has reminded that the suspension does not constitute a sanction in itself, but is intended to protect the interests of the municipality and the dignity of the office.
