Co-Management of the Ombudsman Office of SRG German-speaking Switzerland

Esther Girsberger and Urs Hofmann will jointly lead the Ombudsman of SRG Deutschschweiz from March 2024. On Thursday, the Public Council confirmed Girsberger for another term and elected Urs Hofmann as the new leader. The election is for a four-year term. Hofmann brings a wealth of experience to the Ombudsman, according to a statement. The lawyer and notary has worked in leadership positions in private companies as well as in parliamentary and executive bodies at all levels of government. From 1999 to 2009 he was a SP National Councilor and then he was a government councilor of the canton of Aargau for 12 years. Esther Girsberger and Urs Hofmann will lead the Ombudsman in a 140 percent capacity. Since April 2020, Girsberger has been co-leading the Ombudsman with Kurt Schöbi.
