Thierry Burkart, the Aargau Senator, has been clearly re-elected in the first round of voting. For the free SVP seat in the Senate, a second round of voting will take place. Benjamin Giezendanner (SVP) and Gabriela Suter (SP) are leading the field, with Marianne Binder-Keller (Mitte) in fourth place.
