The FDP is disappointed with the calculation error made by the Federal Statistical Office (BFS) on election night, which initially showed them as the fourth strongest party. After the BFS corrected the result, the FDP remains the third strongest party with 14.3% of the vote. This means that the discussion about the FDP's representation in the Federal Council is no longer relevant, as the Mitte party, which had been in third place, has now fallen back to fourth place with 14.1%. The FDP has lost one seat in the National Council and now has 28 mandates.
