Andrey would be first IT entrepreneur in state government

Gerhard Andrey, a member of the Fribourg Green National Council, has been presented by the Fribourg Green Party as a candidate for the Federal Council elections in December. If elected, he would be the first IT entrepreneur in the national government.
Never before has the parliament elected an entrepreneur from this "new world" to the national government, said Bruno Marmier (Greens), a member of the Fribourg cantonal parliament, to the media in Fribourg on Tuesday.
These entrepreneurs are characterized by a willingness to innovate, a search for ways off the beaten path and the ability to identify new trends early on. They are also able to see opportunities and find appropriate strategies.
Marmier praised Andrey as a person of integrity and loyalty. He was able to hold dissenting positions and keep his eye on the goal even in crises. Andrey had emerged from the National Council elections as the "Panaschier King," Marmier reported further. He had received the most votes of all on lists of other parties.
