Gale-force winds in the mountains

On Monday night, a warm front brought strong south-westerly to westerly winds across the northern side of the Alps. In the Alps and on the Jura mountains, gale-force winds blew in places. The strongest winds were recorded on the Jungfraujoch BE at 131 kilometers per hour.

Gusts of 129 km/h were recorded on the Titlis OW, as reported by the weather service Meteonews on Monday. On the Säntis AR, the meteorologists measured 128 km/h and on Crap Masegn GR 121. At the highest altitude in the Jura, on the Chasseral BE, it blew at up to 101 kilometers per hour. On the Uetliberg in Zurich, the top speed was 92 km/h.
