Truck crashes into tunnel ceiling in Eich LU and causes traffic jam

A truck driver caused a traffic jam on the A2 highway in Eich LU on Tuesday morning. He drove through the tunnel with an open tipper body and collided with the overhead signals.
Two vans and two cars were damaged by the pieces lying around, Lucerne police reported on Tuesday morning. One person had to be taken to hospital for a check-up.
The A2 northbound had to be closed and traffic diverted to Sempach, which led to a large traffic jam in the morning traffic. According to the police, the damage to property can be estimated at several hundred thousand francs.
