SP Federal Council candidate Jon Pult believes that the Federal Council election is an election of personalities. This will ultimately decide who becomes Federal Councillor. He and his rival, Beat Jans, President of the Cantonal Government of Basel-Stadt, are very similar in their positions.

His message was to strengthen the diversity of Switzerland, which he also partly represents. It is also important to show that this is a strength and to transform it into cohesion, said National Councillor Pult from Graubünden.

Jans wants to act as a bridge builder, because if the urban and rural areas are drifting apart, he wants to help bring them together. And he wants to show that the Federal Council can create solutions that are acceptable to both sides, continued former National Councillor Jans.

Asked about his young age, Pult said that the question about his experience was legitimate. He had asked himself whether he was ready and had come to the conclusion that he was.
