Skier dies in collision with tree in Andermatt UR

An 18-year-old skier died in a collision with a tree in the Andermatt-Gütsch area in the canton of Uri on Tuesday. According to the Uri cantonal police, the young man left the piste for unknown reasons and ended up in a forest. Despite rapid initial medical treatment by civilian first aiders and the rescue services, the accident victim died at the scene of the accident.
