One injured in derailment of a freight train in Bern

A freight train derailed in Bern on Thursday morning. An SBB Cargo employee was injured, as SBB spokeswoman Sarah Schmidlin told the Keystone-SDA news agency on request.
The freight train derailed at 5.36 a.m. at the Bern-Weyermannshaus freight station. Further details on the course of the accident were not initially available.
For safety reasons, the entire overhead line was temporarily switched off. Several trains between Bern and Fribourg were subsequently canceled. The lines from Bern to Bern-Brünnen, Bümpliz-Süd, Köniz and Weissenbühl were temporarily interrupted.
From 7 a.m., the railroad lines were open again. After that, commuters still had to put up with delays.
