In a harrowing event in Crans-Montana, Valais, a snowmobile accident led to the death of a 63-year-old female passenger and left another severely injured. The Chilean national succumbed instantly during the crash, which occurred in the Aminona district around 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Accompanying her was a 30-year-old Belgian woman, residing in Geneva, who suffered grave injuries. She was promptly airlifted to a hospital in Sion, where reports indicate her condition is stabilizing.

The snowmobile, carrying a total of seven individuals, veered off the road at the base of a slope under mysterious circumstances, plummeting several meters down an embankment and eventually halting against a wall. Authorities, including the Valais cantonal police, confirmed these details on Sunday.

In the aftermath of this tragic incident, the public prosecutor’s office has initiated a thorough investigation to uncover the factors contributing to this unfortunate accident.
