FDFA expresses shock at the death of Kremlin critic Navalny

Following the death of Kremlin opponent Alexei Navalny, the Swiss Foreign Ministry has expressed its dismay. The Russian was an advocate of democracy and fundamental rights, the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) wrote on the news portal X on Friday.

The FDFA expects an investigation to be launched into the cause of death. The department also expressed its condolences to Navalny's family.

The leading Russian opposition politician Navalny has died in custody, according to the judiciary. This was announced by the prison administration, as reported by the state agency Tass.
