Ten people evacuated due to fire in Flüelen UR

An apartment building caught fire in the center of Flüelen UR earlier on Saturday morning. Ten people were evacuated. One person was taken to Uri Cantonal Hospital with suspected smoke inhalation.
As a spokesperson for the Uri cantonal police announced shortly before 9 a.m. on Saturday, the fire was under control at that time. When the emergency services arrived at the apartment building shortly before 7 a.m. after the fire broke out, all the residents of the house were already outside.
As a precaution, two people from a neighboring house were also evacuated.
As the site of the fire is located next to Axenstrasse, the road was closed in the section in question and traffic was diverted. This was reported by the Touring Club Switzerland (TCS) on its website. The closure should last until the early afternoon.
