“Bis in die Seele ist mir kalt” wins TV crime award

The film "Bis in die Seele ist mir kalt" (ORF/ZDF), which was shot in Austria, has won two prizes at the German Television Thriller Festival 2024. The TV crime thriller by director Daniel Geronimo won the festival's main prize on Friday, as the organizers announced. The special prize for best actress went to an actress from the film: Linde Prelog was honored for her role as Mrs. Gritznigg.
In this TV crime thriller, a strange accumulation of deaths leads detective Acham from Klagenfurt to a small town in Carinthia. The victims are mainly elderly people in need of help. The jury justified its decision by saying that the film raises awareness of the need for greater understanding of the interrelationships between people. The main prize is endowed with 1000 liters of Rheingau wine.
In the crime series of the year category, the student jury chose "Zeit Verbrechen" - an adaptation of the "Verbrechen" podcast from Zeit magazine. Four criminal cases are told in four episodes. "The series perfectly captures the zeitgeist. It not only tackles gripping topics, but also takes us on an emotional journey that makes us question social structures," explained the jury.
Authors Stefan Brunner and Lorenz Langenegger were honored with the Special Screenplay Award for the Swiss Tatort "Von Affen und Menschen". Two prizes went to Dresden: the crime scene "Was ihr nicht seht" (MDR) received the festival's special prize for the entire ensemble and the Wiesbadener Kurier 2024 Audience Award.
