Around 800 pigs died in the major fire at a pig farm in Gossau SG on Wednesday evening. This was announced by the St. Gallen cantonal police on Thursday morning. Around 90 mother pigs and 90 piglets were saved.
The fire affected two stables with a total of 1500 pigs. The fire department was called out at 5.10 p.m. on Wednesday and found part of the stables in full fire.
