After Nemo's victory at the Eurovision Song Contest, a staging in Biel or Bern would actually be the obvious choice. However, the ball is in the SRG's court, as the Mayor of Bern, Alec von Graffenried, announced. However, Bern's schedule for spring 2025 is already full.
With ice hockey play-offs, the BEA spring fair and the European Women's Football Championships taking place shortly afterwards, many events are planned in the federal city and the event calendar is packed, von Graffenried told the Keystone-SDA news agency on Sunday.
According to the mayor, the municipal council, the executive, has not made any decisions. Together with Nemo's home town of Biel, the trade fair organizer Bernexpo, the ice hockey club SCB and the tourism marketing company Bern Welcome, the city will examine whether it would even be possible to host the European singing competition.
Von Graffenried also congratulated Nemo on his victory in Malmö. "With the brilliant song 'The Code', Nemo has managed to move people all over Europe and get them carried away, the Nemo enthusiasm is huge today," wrote politicians from the Green Free List.
