Man dies in wingsuit accident in Ticino

A man from Ticino died in a wingsuit jump in Val Malvaglia in northern Ticino shortly before midday on Saturday. A spokeswoman for the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland confirmed the fatal accident on Sunday at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency.
The Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland (OAG) did not provide any further information "about the cause and course of the accident" and also stated that it had opened proceedings "in accordance with Article 98 of the Federal Aviation Act".
According to media reports from Ticino, the victim is a 36-year-old man from the Bellinzona region. The wingsuit jump is said to have taken place from a helicopter.
