Postbus CEO Christian Plüss is stepping down at the end of January 2025. After stepping down from the Executive Board next year, the 62-year-old will continue to work for Swiss Post in the area of sustainability and energy, Swiss Post announced on Wednesday.

Group CEO Roberto Cirillo praised the performance of the departing member of the Executive Board. Plüss had managed to lead PostBus out of the worst crisis in its history. To this end, he built up the mobility division for Swiss Post and the market.

Plüss took over the management of PostBus and Mobility Services at the end of 2018 under the most difficult of circumstances following the discovery of subsidy fraud at PostBus. From 2007 and until 2015, PostBus AG had systematically concealed profits in regional passenger transport through illegal rebookings and thus fraudulently obtained subsidies. In September 2018, PostBus paid back a total of CHF 205 million to the federal government, cantons and municipalities.

For him, it was the right time to "hand over my job to new hands", Plüss stated. Over the past six years, the management had invested a great deal in the reputation and strategic realignment of PostBus. This phase has now been successfully completed.

According to a press release, Swiss Post Group Management has approved the future management organization of the Mobility Services division and nominated six people for the management functions of the individual units. The search for a new head of Mobility Services will be initiated by the Board of Directors in the next few days.
