The flood situation in the Engadin has eased. All cantonal roads were passable again on Monday afternoon and the water had also receded from St. Moritz Bad.

On Sunday, a small part of St. Moritz-Bad was under water up to half a meter deep because the Ovel da Tegiatscha mountain stream had burst its banks. On Monday, the affected part of the village was free of water again, as the municipal management staff explained at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency. Damage amounting to several hundred thousand francs remained, particularly to the historic Forum Paracelsus drinking hall.

All cantonal and connecting roads throughout the Engadin were open again on Monday morning, according to the Graubünden Civil Engineering Office. On Sunday, sections of road between Brail, Zernez and Susch were temporarily under water or covered with debris from small landslides.

The risk of flooding in the Inn valley river dropped from the second-highest level 4 to level 2. According to the Federal Office for the Environment, there was still a moderate risk of flooding until Wednesday, but flooding was unlikely.
