Pedestrian run over by truck in the canton of Vaud

A pedestrian was run over by a truck in Bussigny VD on Tuesday morning. Rescue workers were only able to determine that the elderly person had died.
According to the Vaud cantonal police, the 49-year-old Portuguese driver of the truck was reversing when he hit an elderly man who was traveling in the same direction. The victim is a Swiss resident in the municipality.
The public prosecutor's office has launched an investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident.
