Survey: In Switzerland, ten percent do without sunscreen

According to a survey, just under ten percent of respondents in Switzerland do not use sun cream. Many of them are disgusted, while others find it too inconvenient to apply, according to a representative survey published on Monday by market researcher Yougov on behalf of online retailer Galaxus in several countries.
Almost 2600 people were surveyed. In other countries, there are more sunscreen haters. In Germany and France, for example, the survey found that around 20 percent of respondents were sunscreen averse.
In France, people want to save money on sun cream, in Italy they want to get a tan faster, Germans find applying sun cream too inconvenient and Austrians have health concerns.
Whether swimming, hiking or otherwise outdoors: For nine out of ten people, however, sun protection is important. Among Europeans, the Swiss and Austrians are among the frontrunners. Between 9 and 15 percent of respondents state that they always apply sunscreen.
Sun creams are the most popular sunscreen products. Sun sprays follow in second place. Day creams with a sun protection factor (SPF) are popular: a fifth of respondents have them in their mirror cabinet. Most Europeans use products with SPF 30 to 50.
