Young man killed in a logging accident in Ticino

A young man has died in a logging accident in the Leventina region of Ticino. According to the Ticino cantonal police, he fell and suffered fatal injuries.
According to the Ticino cantonal police, the accident occurred on Friday morning in Giornico, in the forest above Orsino at an altitude of around 1150 meters.
According to an initial reconstruction, the 24-year-old man from the Lugano area fell while felling a tree and slipped around 40 meters. The cause of the fall was not yet known. The cantonal police and a Rega ambulance team attended the scene, but were only able to determine that the man had died.
