The Love Mobiles will be rolling through Zurich for the 31st time this Saturday. Midsummer temperatures are forecast for the Street Parade. Hundreds of thousands of electronic music fans flock to Zurich's lake basin every year.

The first of the 28 Love Mobiles will set off along the two-kilometer route from 2 pm. An hour before this, various DJs will start their sets on eight stages along the route from Utoquai to Enge. The motto of this year's Street Parade is "Prefer:Tolerance".

In recent years, the organizers have estimated the number of visitors at around 900,000, making the Zurich Technoparade the largest techno party in the world. Apart from the corona-related break, it has been held every year since 1992. The first edition was attended by 2000 dance enthusiasts.

Anti-terror concept in place

After plans to attack Taylor Swift's concerts and Pride in Zurich in June came to light, questions were raised about the Street Parade's anti-terror concept. The Zurich city police are in charge of this, but are not providing any details. Mobile vehicle barriers have been in place at various locations such as the entrances to Sechseläutenplatz since 2019.

The organizers told the NZZ that it would be possible to cancel the major event at short notice, as was the case with the Taylor Swift concerts in Vienna this week.

Fight against mountains of waste

In order to reduce the mountains of waste produced, PET bottles and drinks cans have been required to be deposited at the official food stands since 2023. Glass bottles are not used due to the risk of injury. Visitors are also requested not to bring any bottles with them.

The organizers also want to take consistent action against flyering in order to reduce the amount of waste. Anyone caught doing this will be reported to the police, they warn. In addition, as much waste as possible should be recycled.

The parade usually ends at around 10 pm. Music is played on the stages along the route until midnight. Afterwards, the dancing continues at the numerous parties in Zurich clubs.
