Accused Ticino priest suspended from his functions

In Ticino, a priest accused of various offenses has been suspended from his duties. The man is accused of sexual acts with children, sexual assault, sexual acts with persons incapable of judgment or resistance and pornography.
The man has been suspended from his position on the cantonal commission for the integration of foreigners and from his job as a teacher, the Ticino government's communications officer told the Keystone-SDA news agency in response to an inquiry. He confirmed corresponding media reports.
Disciplinary proceedings have also been initiated against the man. These have been suspended pending the initial results of the criminal proceedings.
