A large, loud and colorful crowd started their demonstration through Lucerne's old town on Saturday evening on the occasion of Central Switzerland Pride. After the demonstration, the Pride will be brought to a festive close with an afterparty at the Bourbaki.

"Gen-Z against homophobia" and "God loves diversity. So do we." can be read on the marchers' posters. The loud but peaceful procession is accompanied by techno and electro sounds. Drag queens encourage the onlookers standing on the sidelines to dance. The atmosphere is generally exuberant.

The Pride Festival started at 11 a.m. with food stalls, markets, various musical performances and a bar. Later in the afternoon, Mayor Beat Züsli (SP) gave a speech. He said it was great how a major event like Pride brings a wide variety of people together. "For me, Pride is an opportunity to demonstrate Lucerne's quality as a cosmopolitan city that welcomes all people and celebrates diversity."
