Worker killed in accident in Clusette tunnel in Val-de-Travers

A man aged around 50 died in a work accident in the Clusette Tunnel in Val-de-Travers in the canton of Neuchâtel on Wednesday afternoon. He was hit by a maneuvering vehicle in an area cordoned off for work.
The accident occurred shortly after 3 p.m., as reported by the Neuchâtel cantonal police on Thursday. An ambulance team, which happened to be traveling in the part of the tunnel that was open to traffic, immediately provided first aid. Nevertheless, the man died at the scene of the accident. The tunnel was completely closed until after 8 p.m. for the accident investigation.
