SVP would prefer to postpone decision on counter-financing

The SVP does not want a fund solution to counter-finance higher army expenditure. Instead, the party wants savings in other areas.
Thomas Hurter (SVP/ZH) said in the National Council debate that his parliamentary group would actually prefer to wait until the budget debate to decide on the funding issue: "Everything we are doing today is just a declaration of intent." However, the SVP is prepared to jump over its shadow.
Hurter explained that the benchmarks for the orientation were supported in principle. However, he criticized that they should have been designed in such a way that an evaluation would be possible in twelve years.
