Man dies after an altercation in Tavannes BE

A 37-year-old Swiss man from the canton of Bern died of his serious injuries at the scene of an argument in an apartment in Tavannes BE on Friday evening. The second person involved was slightly injured and provisionally arrested, according to the Bern cantonal police.
The police received the report of an altercation on the Grand-Rue in Tavannes shortly after 10.10 pm. On the scene, the emergency services found the two injured men. The 37-year-old then died despite immediate rescue measures, as the police reported on Saturday.
Extensive investigations into the events are underway under the direction of the Bernese Jura-Seeland regional public prosecutor's office, it added.
