Motorcyclist dies in accident in Basel

A motorcyclist had a fatal accident in Basel on Sunday night. Despite immediate resuscitation measures, the 52-year-old man died at the scene of the accident.
The motorcyclist was traveling from Dorenbachkreisel towards Neuweilerplatz at around 00:50 a.m. when he lost control of his motorcycle for as yet unexplained reasons. The 52-year-old then collided with the edge of the sidewalk and crashed, as reported by the Department of Justice and Security and the Basel-Stadt cantonal police on Sunday morning.
Holeestrasse remained closed for the duration of the accident investigation. The exact cause of the accident is still being investigated by the traffic police.
