A 29-year-old driver drove into a herd of cattle in Fläsch GR on Sunday afternoon. One animal was killed and two others injured. According to the police, the driver and his passenger suffered only minor injuries in the accident.

The accident happened shortly before 4.15 p.m. when the 29-year-old and his 33-year-old co-driver and vehicle owner were coming from Balzers FL on the St. Luzisteig. He wanted to overtake another car in his BMW near Fläsch GR, as a spokesperson for the Graubünden cantonal police told Keystone-SDA on Monday morning.

The driver lost control of the vehicle and skidded across the road into a pasture. There, the car collided with three cattle. One of the cattle was treated directly in the pasture by an animal ambulance team, the spokesperson continued. A second was taken to a veterinary clinic. For the third animal, all help came too late. The police did not provide any information about possible speeding by the 29-year-old driver. The authorities are now investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
