The Swiss Hospital Association (H+) and the health insurance association Santésuisse welcome the agreement on the new outpatient tariff system. It is a compromise solution that represents an important milestone, both associations announced on Tuesday.
H+ has agreed to the present tariff system and is pleased that the present compromise solution could be found after the intensive work and challenging negotiations over the last few months, the association explained. The present tariff system will be submitted to the Federal Council for approval as soon as the FMH medical association has decided on its internal referendum.
Santésuisse also stated that the decision of the tariff organization OAAT to approve the new tariff system was based on careful consideration and represents a sustainable compromise. The new uniform tariff system accurately reflects the requirements of a modern medical tariff, the health insurance association added.
The new tariff is to be applied for the first time on January 1, 2026, replacing the outdated Tarmed tariff. This changeover represents a major challenge for hospitals and clinics and offers no scope for delays, wrote H+.
