Lufthansa subsidiary Swiss is still not flying to the Israeli coastal metropolis of Tel Aviv. As the airline announced on Monday, the suspension of flights will be extended up to and including November 25, 2024.
Swiss explained that it had taken this decision after a thorough examination of the situation. As a result, Swiss has no longer been flying to Tel Aviv since September 18.
Affected passengers will be contacted, the statement continued. The airline is offering a free rebooking to a later travel date or a refund of the ticket price.
Last week, Swiss had already announced the suspension of flights to the Lebanese capital Beirut until January 18, 2025.
The background to the measures is the ongoing fighting in the Middle East. Early on Saturday morning, Israel also carried out a long-awaited retaliatory strike against Iran in the form of air strikes.
