Pedestrian fatally injured on Fribourg highway

A young man was hit and fatally injured by a car on the A12 highway near Marsens FR on Thursday evening. The man is said to have been in the lanes of the highway, according to the Fribourg cantonal police. An investigation will show why.
According to initial findings, the 24-year-old was hit by a vehicle traveling from Fribourg towards Vevey shortly after 7 pm. The identity of the victim has not yet been fully clarified and formal identification is still pending.
The highway had to be completely closed to traffic in the affected section until around one o'clock in the morning.
