Members of the Federal Council Give Speeches in Switzerland and Indonesia

On August 1st, members of the Swiss Federal Council will give speeches in all parts of the country, with Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis even travelling to Indonesia to celebrate. The speeches will take place mainly in rural areas and on the Rütli, as in previous years. President and Interior Minister Alain Berset will give three speeches in the West of the country, in his home canton of Fribourg, in Domdidier and in Lausanne VD. Vice President and Defence Minister Viola Amherd will give her National Day speech in Lucerne on July 31st. Environment Minister Albert Rösti will give two speeches in Solothurn, in Härkingen and Lüterswil-Gächliwil, and one in Melide in the canton of Ticino. Justice Minister Elisabeth Baume-Schneider will give one speech on the Rütli in Uri and another at a farmer's brunch in Muotathal in Schwyz. Economy Minister Guy Parmelin will give two speeches in the West of the country, at a farmer's brunch at Schwarzsee in Fribourg and in Cully in his home canton of Vaud. Finance Minister Karin Keller-Sutter will give a speech in Rapperswil-Jona in St. Gallen. Ignazio Cassis will celebrate the National Day with Swiss expatriates in Jakarta, Indonesia, during an official visit. On August 1st, around 300 Swiss farmers will invite people to a Buure-Zmorge, and thousands of people will watch fireworks in various cities and towns. Basel will celebrate on July 31st with a fireworks boat on the Rhine, but due to the dryness, firework bans have been issued in some cantons, such as Valais, where there have been several fires in addition to the forest fire above Bitsch.
