President Berset Calls on Swiss Abroad to Unite

On August 1st, Swiss President Alain Berset addressed Swiss citizens abroad, calling for unity and openness. He acknowledged that the world is facing difficult times, with the pandemic, war in Ukraine, climate change, energy shortages and inflation. He reminded citizens that the values that unite them, such as peace, democracy, freedom of speech, neutrality, compromise and solidarity, are what make Switzerland strong and credible. He urged citizens to stand together and defend these values in order to strengthen the bond between them and move the country forward. In conclusion, Berset stressed the importance of standing together and defending shared values in order to ensure a strong and stable Switzerland.
