A 39-year-old father, together with his two sons and a colleague of the two, stole tools and machines from buildings in Val Müstair GR on Monday night. The Italian police caught the gang of thieves the following morning near the Swiss border.
The 39-year-old and his three 16- to 20-year-old companions allegedly stole material from a house under reconstruction in Fuldera GR at around 11 p.m. on Sunday, the Graubünden cantonal police wrote on Friday. A resident had observed the dark-clothed persons in the process.
When the police went out, they already received the next report that a gang of thieves was hanging around in a new building in Müstair GR. In both reports, the observers mentioned a white SUV, which is why the cantonal police, together with the Federal Office for Border Security (BAZG), initiated a search for this vehicle.
The next morning, the Italian police managed to stop and check the white SUV in Glurns (I). In the process, the goods from the previous evening worth several thousand Swiss francs came to light.
