Specialists had searched a suspicious object, the Zurich cantonal police said. The operation ended at around 4:45 p.m., they said. A police spokesman did not want to give further details on request of the news agency Keystone-SDA. Only that there was no danger to the population at any time.

The e-mail, which had been sent to the “Blick” and the “Tages-Anzeiger” among others, states that a paint marking had been placed on the building over the weekend. Now an explosive device had been placed. It was sent from a presumably German e-mail address.

A particularly important court case was not scheduled at that time at the high court.

Update: Zurich Police Arrests Sender of Bomb Threat
10/25/2023

Zurich cantonal police have identified the sender of Tuesday’s bomb threat at the Superior Court: It is a 44-year-old Swiss national. He has been arrested.

The man was arrested on Wednesday morning, as the cantonal police announced. Why he threatened by e-mail with an explosive device in the high court building is still unclear. This is the subject of further investigations.
