A 20-year-old man died at the scene of a collision with another car between Oberrüti and Sins AG late on Saturday evening. The two occupants of the second car were uninjured, according to the Aargau cantonal police.

Shortly after 11.30 p.m., the 20-year-old man's small car turned into the main road from a narrow side street. There, a Mercedes collided violently with the small car turning into the main road. The latter was hurled into the adjacent creek bed, as the police reported on Sunday.

Despite resuscitation attempts, all help came too late for the man: rescue services and police found the 20-year-old lifeless in the demolished car. The two uninjured 18-year-old occupants of the Mercedes were taken to the hospital in Muri AG for a check-up.

Both cars were totaled. Because engine oil flowed from the Ford into the stream, the fire department set up an oil barrier, the police reported. The exact circumstances of the fatal collision and its cause were still unclear on Sunday. The Aargau cantonal police have begun their investigation. The public prosecutor's office opened a criminal investigation.
