200 accidents on slippery roads in the cantons of Bern and Zurich

Around 200 traffic accidents occurred on snow-covered roads in the cantons of Zurich and Bern over the weekend. In addition, the Bern cantonal police received around 120 reports of fallen trees on roads.
From Friday evening until 10 o'clock on Sunday morning, there were 150 accidents on Zurich's roads, most of which were damage accidents, as a media spokesperson for the Zurich cantonal police told the Keystone-SDA news agency. There were only very few injuries. Around 20 of the 150 accidents occurred on Sunday night.
The Bern cantonal police received 125 reports, according to an inquiry. 49 of these were accidents, in one case there were injuries. The other reports involved trees blocking the roads. The Bernese Oberland, Emmental and Oberaargau regions were particularly affected.
