On the first day of the Ukraine summit at Bürgenstock NW, a good 200 people gathered for a rally in front of Lucerne railroad station on Saturday afternoon. Among other things, they called for more global efforts to free Ukrainian prisoners of war.

A good 200 people gathered in front of the archway at the start of the rally at 2 pm. Many brought Ukrainian flags with them. One young person held up a cardboard box with the inscription: "I will never see my father again". Another: "My father is a hero." Many of those present wore T-shirts with the inscription: "Save Ukrainian Prisoners of War". They paid tribute to the prisoners of war with a minute's silence.

They also called for an end to the torture of Ukrainian prisoners of war held in Russia and for their treatment to be ensured in accordance with the Geneva Conventions, as the organizers stated in a press release. The rally was organized by the Ukrainian Society of Switzerland and family members of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
