The 46th Solothurn Literature Festival (10-12 May) will be dominated by current crisis topics. There will also be celebrations, for example at the award ceremonies. This can be seen in the program published by the organizers on Tuesday.
Fear, artificial intelligence (AI), climate crisis, war, migration, trauma, insecurity, dystopian views of the future - these gloomy topics characterize everyday social life. And they have arrived in literature. That's why they are the focus of the upcoming Solothurn Literature Festival.
The Literature Days are both a festival and a showcase of Swiss and international literary creation over the past year. A total of 74 authors present their works, 140 events are planned: from readings to the supporting and family program to topical podiums. In addition, the Swiss literature prizes, including the Grand Prix Literature and the Solothurn Literature Prize, will be awarded, and the winner of the Swiss Children's and Young People's Book Prize will be announced.
