74-year-old woman is killed by husband in Frauenfeld

A 68-year-old man killed his 74-year-old wife in Frauenfeld on Monday morning. The police arrested the Swiss man.
Shortly before 7.30 a.m., the emergency call center received a report that a man in a house in the Langäcker district intended to kill his wife and take his own life, the Thurgau cantonal police said on Monday evening.
The police deployed several patrols. Members of the negotiating team made contact with the 68-year-old Swiss man. He told the officers that he had killed his wife and threatened to commit suicide.
Through intensive negotiations, the man was dissuaded from his plan and arrested shortly before 12.30 p.m., according to the police statement. The woman's body was found in the house.
The criminal investigation department began an investigation in cooperation with the public prosecutor's office. The forensic service secured evidence. A criminal investigation was opened.
