88-year-old driver dies in Lugano after collision with bus

An 88-year-old driver had a fatal accident in Lugano on Friday. For reasons that are not yet clear, possibly due to illness, he lost control of his vehicle. He left the road and collided with a parked bus, according to the Ticino cantonal police.
The accident occurred shortly before 3.45 p.m. on Via Maraini. The cantonal and municipal police as well as the ambulance were at the scene. Despite resuscitation attempts, the emergency services were only able to determine that the 88-year-old Swiss man had died, according to the press release.
